Welcome

Welcome to Churchtown Nursery, where your child’s happiness and well-being are at the heart of everything we do.

Our caring and enthusiastic team creates a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where little ones can thrive - developing confidence, independence, and a love of learning. We're passionate about helping children flourish as curious learners, discovering the world through play, exploration, and new friendships.

Our Nursery Rooms

We offer high-quality early years education for children aged 2 to 4 years:

  • Snowdrops (2 year olds) - available from the term after your child's 2nd birthday (dependent on availability)

  • Buttercups (3-4 year olds) - available from the term after your child's 3rd birthday (dependent on availability)

A Nurturing Start

We understand how important the early years are for your child's development. Our approach goes beyond early learning skills - we focus just as much on happiness, confidence and emotional well-being. By recognising each child's unique interests, we create engaging opportunities that spark curiosity and nurture a lifelong love of learning.

The Reggio Emilia Approach

Members of our nursery team were blessed to travel to Italy to study The Reggio Emilia approach and implement their findings across our nursery provision. This inspirational, child-centred philosophy to early years education views children as capable, curious and confident learners. It places strong value on children’s ideas, interests and creativity, recognising that children learn best through play, exploration, relationships and meaningful experiences.

Central to the approach is the belief that children express themselves in many ways — often referred to as the “hundred languages of children”. These include movement, talk, drawing, construction, role play, music and imaginative play. Practitioners act as skilled facilitators, supporting and extending learning rather than directing it.

The environment is seen as the “third teacher”, carefully designed to encourage independence, collaboration and investigation. Observation, reflection and documentation are used to understand children’s learning and to plan next steps based on their interests.

Working in Partnership with Families

Your family's journey with us begins even before your child starts. We take time to get to know you, supporting a smooth and reassuring transition into nursery life. Together, we'll help your child feel safe, valued, and ready to explore every new adventure.

We can't wait to welcome you and your little one to Churchtown nursery - where every day is filled with joy, discovery and care.
